2. Who Uses Chore Goblin

Chore Goblin is a family app. Only adults (parents or legal guardians) may create accounts. Children use the app under their parent or guardian's account and supervision. We do not allow children to register accounts independently.

By creating an account you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and are the parent or legal guardian responsible for your family's use of the app.

3. Information We Collect

Account Information (Parent)

• Email address
• Password (stored as a secure hash — we cannot see your actual password)
• Family name

Family Data

• Children's first names and chosen avatars (emoji characters)
• Chore names, schedules, and point values you create
• Chore completion records and point totals
• Reward names and redemption history
• Allowance amounts you set

Technical Data

• Device type (browser/OS user agent string) for login session management
• Session tokens stored in browser cookies
• Notification channel identifier for push notifications (if enabled)

What We Do NOT Collect

• Children's birthdates, addresses, phone numbers, or photos
• Payment card numbers (billing handled externally via Invoice Ninja)
• Location data
• Behavioral tracking or analytics data
• Advertising identifiers

4. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and improve the Chore Goblin service
• To authenticate you and maintain your session
• To send push notifications you have enabled
• To send transactional emails (account verification, support responses)
• To process subscription billing

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Chore Goblin is designed to be COPPA-compliant. We take children's privacy seriously:

• Only parents and guardians (18+) may create accounts
• Children's profiles contain only a first name and an emoji avatar chosen by the parent
• We do not collect any contact information, precise age, or other personal information from children
• We do not serve advertising to children
• Parents may delete their account and all associated data at any time

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers operated by Z² Technologies LLC. We use industry-standard security practices including password hashing, HTTPS encryption, and HTTP-only secure cookies.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or billing purposes.

8. Your Rights (California Residents)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect and how we use it
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
